Personality: It could easily be said that being raised in a rich background that Tamaki has a very eccentric outlook on life, which would be true, but not for the reasons many may assume. Instead of an expected behavior of spoiled, irrational, domineering, and ingratitude—it's actually quite the opposite. He is unbelievably naïve when it comes to many situations where others may deem it offensive, particularly when he is put into middle-class settings and regards them as a "commoner's" setting; he means no harm with this, it just never occurs to him that it may be harmful to others. This naivety also comes into play when it comes to himself: he never realizes the truth of how he feels towards others and how they treat him. Even if someone poses a disservice towards himself, he is always quick to forgive and still displays an almost startling sense of chivalry towards both genders. Despite this, he will be quick to go to the offensive if harmful intent is given towards any of his friends. Furthermore, some aspects of his personality which is often missed by most individuals (often blinded by his fancy and lengthy narcissistic sessions), is that not only is he fortunate in beauty, but his mind is also quite sharp intellectually. Without any effort, Tamaki managed to make second in his class (right behind his best-friend, Kyoya Ootori). Also, in his lengthy speeches filled with chivalrous notions, there is no façade or artifice behind his words: he genuinely means what he says to each person he meets. Additionally, he has a very kind soul overall. He is always one to be gentle with others, for example, playing the piano for his mother in order to ease her sickness instead of going out and making friends as a child. Tamaki often regards his close friends as his family and will go out of his way to make sure a certain order is kept. Often, his friends consist of people he has managed to see through their complexities and his friendship as a way to guard against their issues or problems. By and large, Tamaki is a gentle soul with good intentions—just never one to realize the dilemmas created by such intentions. History: It all started with an affair; Tamaki's father, the heir of the Suoh clan and the prestigious Ouran Academy, began a love affair with a French woman and after she became impregnated by him and his son, Tamaki, was born, he divorced his legal wife. Since there was no other heir to the Suoh name, Tamaki's grandmother (the head of and decision-maker of the Suoh name) he was acknowledged as a Suoh for such reason. However, during his youth, his parents were separated by the paternal grandmother's grudge against Tamaki's mother. Although she was sickly, his mother felt immense guilt for keeping him away from his father and a better life and disappeared after he was given permission to live in the Suoh family compound on a few conditions. The first of these conditions was that he was not to have any contact with his mother, one that often plagued him with immense guilt. The next was that since he was not a legitimate child, he would not be allowed to live in the family's main residence. While both of these conditions were difficult to bear, Tamaki managed to live with it with a strong beat of confidence and optimism and even holds no feelings against his grandmother. In high school, Tamaki was a wonderful student. Second in his class (only to his best-friend Kyoya Ootori), the President of the Host Club—a club he created on his own to serve the bored and wealthy ladies of Ouran Academy—and additionally, managed to create quite a fanbase of girls at Ouran.
